Happy Easter! Thank you for taking a look at my new blog & posting a comment. I'm so glad you're enjoying it. Keep watching for new posts (which I'm trying to do daily) which will provide you with ideas & sample projects, class information, special offers and of course I'll throw in a contest like this every now & then - among other things!
Without further adieu - our randomly generated winner of the stamp set 'Best Wishes & More' is (I'm imagining a drumroll here)...Karen Heifner with her comment: "This is so cool........I love it!!". Thanks Karen - I'll get that stamp set out to you ASAP!
Now onto the spring fun part of the post (although don't get me wrong-giving away stamps is a lot of fun too!)...At the Minneapolis regional seminar we saw the cutest idea using the Big Shot Die-cut Machine. Right away I thought of my niece's birthdays and here's what I came up with as part of their gift:
Aren't these headbands adorable? They're so easy to make. I used the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz die (which is exclusive to Stampin' Up!) to cut out the felt butterflies. Then it was simply a matter of attaching the clear button to the layered butterflies with a needle & thread; and then attaching that piece to the headband with the same needle & thread. I found these colored headbands at Target and the felt came from a fabric store. I didn't have the headbands with me when I went to purchase the felt so I was pleasantly surprised when I got home to see how closely they all matched with the exception of the yellow (which made me really happy I bought white too just in case!).
You can also easily make this project with Die-cuts other than butterflies. One of the samples in Minneapolis was made with layered flowers and it was really cute. Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions on this project!
Supplies used in this project: Big Shot Die-Cut Machine (#113439); Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die (#114507); Clear Buttons (#105447); headbands; matching felt; and thread.
