Some of My Favorite Things

If you know anything about me personally you know that my absolute favorite place in the country is Arizona and that's where I am right now as I type this. I come home tomorrow & am not ready to leave the beautiful heat behind (though I may be one of only a few people who consider 114 degrees beautiful!). But while I've been here I got the chance to take a few project pictures with another of my favorite things as a backdrop - cactus! Here's a fun flower pot card for today and I'll see you soon with more projects and the details on this one!

Lattice Love Take II

Here's the other card I promised to show you yesterday featuring the Lattice Bigz Die. Though a picture truly doesn't do this card justice as those of you who have seen it in person can attest to!

 

Instead of cutting the Lattice piece out of card stock I used our new Wood Sheets. These are sized for use in the Big Shot at 5 3/4" x 13 3/4" and come four sheets to a package. They can be used for more than just the Big Shot though - in this project I punched a Modern Label punch out of the wood sheet to layer with the birthday greeting.

Here's another project I did using the wood sheets. This is using the new Fancy Favor die, also exclusive to Stampin' Up!.

 

This box features the new Autumn Harvest Rub-Ons and the absolutely fantastic 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon. It will look really cute filled with a bag of fall colored candies (which are not quite out yet in my neighborhood stores surprisingly).

A Little Lattice Love

One of my favorite new Big Shot dies is the Lattice Bigz Die. This die is exclusive to Stampin' Up! and is stunning. There are many different ways you can use the main & negative images. I've got three projects to share with you today (amazing-I know!!!).

The first card I'll share is simple & straightforward. Simply use textured card stock with your Lattice die & layer that image onto non-textured cardstock of the same color. This tone-on-tone look gives you very elegant looking cards quickly. Tip: I've found the easiest way to attach the Lattice piece to your card is by using 4 mini glue dots, one each at the center of the 4-corner 'flower' images.

 

The next card shows you a different way to highlight your die-cut image. Using your 1 3/4" Circle Punch just punch out coordinating card stock circles & layer them behind the lattice image. I can't take credit for this card - I completely copied it from somewhere (and can usually never remember where I originally saw the idea)!

The last card I'll show you today shows off a way you can use the negative images as well in your finished project. The 'petal' shaped pieces will perfectly layer onto the 5-Petal Flower Punch image!

Big Shot Class

I taught the first in a series of four Big Shot Classes this evening (which is why I am pictureless tonight) and it went great. Everyone loved our projects but definitely was a little tired of the red peels from the sticky strip by the end of the night (we can all relate, right?).
