I have to say that the Designer Series Paper I keep being drawn back to is the new Thoroughly Modern group. Between the patterns and colors it is just lovely! Here's a card using one of those patterns paired with the new Soft Suede color.
And again you see the Modern Label Punch. Really I need to diversify here, but like I mentioned in a previous post-I keep going back to this punch again & again. It's completely become a mainstay in my projects because it's so simple yet adds that extra little punch.
To make the scalloped card itself I used the Big Shot Die-Cut Machine with our new exclusive Stampin' Up! Scallop Square Bigz Clear Die. These clear dies are excellent if you're using them on patterned paper or a picture where there is a specific thing that you want to be centered in the scallop. It completely takes the guesswork out of it for you which is a great thing! To make the card using this die you'll just line up the folded edge of the card inside one edge of the die so that it is only cutting the 3 other sides of the scallop square. This will leave your folded edge uncut and keep your card together in one piece.

I love anything that makes life easier when it comes to stamping. Sometimes that means quick & easy in order to complete projects that make it look like I spent a whole lot more time than I actually did in creating them! Don't get me wrong-I also love projects that are intricate and take time to finish, but when I need a card for something I'm usually walking out the door and need it right away (please tell me I'm not the only one!). The two cards I'm going to show you literally took minutes to finish & are both elegant and beautiful.
The first card uses our new Pendant Notes which are die-cut notecards with a really beautiful detailed design. I cut some Designer Series Paper to layer behind the die-cut image and then added some matching ribbon from one of our Ribbon Originals sets across the bottom. In the center of the image I layered a felt flower from our Flower Fusion tin with a flower from the Pretties Kit and held them together to the card with a matching corduroy button.
This card uses our new Elegant Notes which are also a set of die-cut notecards but these have an embossed raised border. I again layered the Designer Series Paper behind the die-cut image and then tied a matching ribbon from a different Ribbon Originals set around the front of the card. I finished the card by stamping my 'thank you' in the matching Old Olive ink. Simple as that!
Both sets of the die-cut notecards come in a package of 15 and include envelopes. I always keep these on hand because you can put together a great detailed card very quickly.
