For my May stamp clubs we're doing a 'masculine' theme since those types of cards seem to be one of the hardest to come up with ideas for. I don't have the Totally Tool stamp set, but one of my club members (thanks Stacey!) wanted some ideas for this set so she borrowed it to me and we'll be using it for one of the projects this month.
I also made three additional cards for Stacey to thank her for letting me use this stamp set and to give her a few additional ideas. This is one of those cards that she'll be receiving on Tuesday night.
This stamp set makes it really easy to make fun cards that can be geared towards anyone - not just men. But I did stay with more of a masculine theme with my color choices and hardware. There isn't a lot of hardware on this card (just the lone Vintage Brad), but I'll be posting the other cards over the next couple of days and you'll see that for a man's card - hardware is a key addition.
One thing I also did on this card was tone down the patterned paper in the background. It's something you don't think often to do, but sponging on the patterned paper (even stamping on it) makes it that much more versatile in your projects. For this card I sponged creamy caramel ink over the entire piece of Designer Series Paper which gave it more of a grunge type look and made it more masculine overall.
